We need your help to keep our annual special events such as Depot Days, Once Upon a Christmas, and  School Days a success! We'll provide the training, and you'll enjoy making new friends and giving back      to the community.

Greeter and Docent Corp


   These folks are essential to a positive visitor experience!  Welcome guests and interpret the historic Depot, Netzley/Yender Farmhouse, Beaubien Tavern, and CB&Q Waycar (caboose).

Heritage Guild
     
  
Enjoy good company while crafting the annual Heritage Christmas ornament, operating the Museum Gift  Shop, and helping decorate for special events.
   The Guild meets for a few hours each Tuesday, late morning to early afternoon.  Members bring a bag lunch.  No need to shy away from this great group if you cannot commit to every week - it is "come when you can, leave when you must!"

Restoration  Crew
      Apply your mechanical and carpentry skills to
restoration of  artifacts such as buggies, wagons, and other historic treasures.
   Among the crew's recent accomplishments is the stunning and authentic restoration of the interior of the 1881 waycar.
   This group meets Tuesday evenings in the Blacksmith
Shop.

Blacksmiths


   Lisle Heritage Society Blacksmiths operate the Blacksmith Shop, demonstrate at special events, craft items to use at the complex and sell at the Gift Shop, and

teach classes through the Lisle Park District: http://www.lisleparkdistrict.org/museum

   Help with the planning, planting, and care of the Farmhouse Kitchen Garden, 3 Sisters Native American Garden, and Perennial Flower Gardens.

Model Railroad

   
   
Members, and other railroad enthusiasts,  built and operate a large HO gauge model railroad at Lisle Station Park.  Adults and youngsters alike are mesmerized by this attraction!

Summer Kitchen


     Bake apple pies and  cornbread in the 19thcentury, wood fire-heated beehive oven to serve to guests during special events.
